Marja van Zeijl

Dr. Marja van Zeijl is a research biologist with more than 20 years experience in research and development in the pharmaceutical industry, including the development of therapeutic products for viral disease and vaccines. She is a Senior Director of Vaccine Development Management for Pfizer Inc., and an expert in managing cross-functional teams that create development strategies for complex vaccines spanning preclinical research through commercial manufacturing.

Prior to its acquisition by Pfizer, Dr. van Zeijl served in several positions at Wyeth Research in one of which she managed the Discovery Research segment of the Wyeth-ViroPharma HCV Polymerase Alliance. Dr. van Zeijl holds Bachelors and Masters degrees in Biology from Rijks Universiteit Utrecht, Utrecht, the Netherlands and a PhD in Anatomy and Cellular Biology from Harvard University. She has published more than a dozen technical publications and is the co-holder of U.S. patents relating to virus receptors.
